Q: How is it possible to control algal growth in water bodies (i.e. farm dams)? Q: What are the nutrient levels / discharge rates from the SA Water Wastewater Treatment Plants? A: SA Water's Sustainability Report 2005, contains wastewater discharge rates and a wastewater treatment plant performance summary.
Q: If cyanobacteria is detected in water that is used for stock or human consumption, can there be an issue with toxins? A: AWQC facilitates tests that provide results regarding toxicity issues. To find out more please contact the Customer Service Unit for more information.
Laboratory questions
Q: What are the terms and conditions for AWQC invoicing and generally? A: Payment is required after the work is complete. If the final report is to be sent as a hard copy, the invoice is posted with the final report. If final report is to be sent by fax or email, the invoice is forwarded a day or 2 later. Standard Terms and Conditions for sampling and analysis are also available.
Q: Does AWQC provide testing of rainwater for private use? A: Yes. A rain water fact sheet contains important information for you to consider before you decide to test your rain water. If you decide to proceed with having your rain water tested you can download an application form. A publication called Guidance on use of rainwater tanks is also available from enHealth.
Q: Is Tank Water Better Than Mains Water? A: Tank water is of better overall quality than the water supplied in some small rural towns. Read more....
Q: Does AWQC provide testing of bore water for private use? A: Yes. Please read our bore water fact sheet. The application form details test information and bore water tests that AWQC conducts. We have also provided three guideline extracts dependant on your required use for the the bore water; Guideline for bore water– human consumption, Irrigation Guideline and Livestock Guideline.
Q: What is my mains water quality like? A: View the area maps to find out what water supply system your area belongs to. Area maps: Anstey Hill, Barossa, Happy Valley, Hope Valley, Little Para and Myponga. When you know your area, please refer to the five year averages for your water supply system reproduced with United Water's permission.
