Overview of Program

SA Water's Wastewater research program is focused on meeting the challenges associated with the treatment and reuse of wastewater and stormwater by:

  • Managing Treatment: Improving the sustainability and performance of our wastewater treatment operations to reduce cost while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Managing Dispersals: Maximising beneficial reuse in a sustainable, safe and cost effective manner.
  • Managing Residual: Cost effective disposal of waste from wastewater treatment plants to reduce site contamination and odour issues, with emphasis on beneficial reuse.
